Our Committee Members

Jill Galea, Chair

Managing Director – Owner Sedona New Day Spa

We feel blessed to be in beautiful Sedona and have the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful community.

“Mom and dad loved Sedona and we loved spending time with them and our family throughout the years. Those precious memories we will treasure forever. Dad was very impressed with the community spirit of Sedona and he helped to establish some, and supported other service clubs and organizations. They both believed in the intrinsic value of service work, supporting one’s community in whatever ways an individual is able.

I am so honored to be the Chairwoman of the non-profit sculptural pedestrian park, Jack Jamesen Memorial Park in West Sedona in memory of Dad and recognition of those amazing citizens who serve their community and work to make this world a better place.

“The honoring Women section of the park is, of course, a favorite for me as I love honoring my loving Mother Gail~ the Woman who brought me into this world and gave me my wings.”

In the past Jill Galea held executive management positions at Lord & Taylor, Ann Taylor, Brooks Brothers, Carter’s Childrenswear and also spent time in consulting for NextGen Networks in her husband’s former telecommunication consulting firm.

Currently Jill and her husband own and manage Sedona’s New Day Spa, a new private retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation with outdoor gardens, a hot tub and fountains, offering a unique menu of Desert Nature Body Treatments and Native American inspired Spa Rituals, restorative facials and a full nail service.

Alan Brecher

I was drawn to Jack Jamesen Park  many years ago as I attend all the beautiful military  ceremonies held at this special sculpture garden.

My wife Linda and I have always been committed to animal causes. We both served on the board of the Humane Society of Sedona. Now I am walking dogs at the shelter 4 days a week, and am involved in adoption and rescue for these incredible dogs that ask for so little.

We are fortunate to be able to donate a K9 sculpture to Jack Jamesen Memorial Park, Jewel in Sedona. Our military dogs are 4 legged heroes and need to be recognized for what they do abroad and for our veterans here at home.

Over the years many women have influenced my life and my development. I am now blessed to have the privilege of working with those individuals who have cognitive and physical disabilities.

Many days takes me into the homes of the disabled, and I get to observe the women who have devoted their lives to the care and nurturing of these very special individuals. Those admirable women inspire and encourage me daily.

I arrived in this great state seventeen years ago, thinking that I would enjoy the wonderful weather, playing golf, and becoming a couch potato. Previously, I had enjoyed my life as an entrepreneur, and I thought that I was deserving of an early retirement.

Shortly after I arrived in Arizona, I met a precious eleven year old young woman with cerebral palsy, who changed the direction of my life forever. I learned from this young woman the joy of mastering daily living skills, skills that so many of us don’t give much thought to completing. She taught me trust, love, and laughter.
